Members of Southend in Sight took to the saddle on Tuesday 11 September when the charity visited Just Ride Southend for a morning of bike riding.

Southend in Sight took 12 VIPs (visually impaired people) to Just Ride Southend’s base at Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre, Garon Park, to enjoy the freedom of cycling in a safe, traffic-free environment on specially adapted cycles. They were accompanied by five sighted volunteers with support from the Just Ride volunteers.

Southend in Sight member Steve Wright said ‘It was brilliant!  – And great to ride a bike again after all these years, in a safe environment.’

Just Ride Southend runs regular drop‑in inclusive cycling sessions for people of all ages and abilities. More information about Just Ride Southend can be found at www.justridesouthend.com
